Daisaku Ikeda Research Center opens at Zhengzhou Shengda University

The Daisaku Ikeda Research Center was established at Zhengzhou Shengda University (ZSU) in Henan Province, China, with an opening ceremony held on the college campus on October 30, 2024. The event was attended by ZSU Chair Wang Xinqi, Party Secretary Lei Ting, faculty and student representatives and Soka University (SU) Executive Vice President Koichi Kandachi.

Located in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, ZSU enrolls over 30,000 students across diverse faculties and plays a vital role in nurturing talented individuals who contribute to regional development.

ZSU Chair Wang reflected on the enduring friendship between his grandfather, ZSU founder Wang Guangya, and Soka University founder Daisaku Ikeda, expressing his aspirations for the center to serve as a bridge for cultural and educational exchanges between China and Japan. ZSU President Zhang Xin emphasized the importance of studying and applying Mr. Ikeda’s philosophy of peace and expressed her hope for the flourishing of friendship between the youth of both countries.

SU Executive Vice President Kandachi conveyed his gratitude and shared his vision for deepening academic exchanges between the two universities.
