New Spanish Edition of Toynbee-Ikeda Dialogue Published
Madrid, Spain: A newly translated Spanish edition of Choose Life, the dialogue between British historian Arnold J. Toynbee (1889–1975) and Daisaku Ikeda, has been co-published by Ediciones Civilización Global and the Daisaku Ikeda Joint Research Institute of Education and Development (IEDDAI) at the University of Alcalá. The book presents the authors insights on timeless issues including the role of religion, the environmental crisis, health and welfare and political systems.
IEDDAI Director Alejandro Iborra and Vice Director Ana Belén García Varela jointly contributed the foreword, remarking that the book inspires an awareness that dialogue is the force that propels us forward in every facet of our daily lives and, though modest, is what can open the pathway toward a common future of sustainable peace in a truly humane and humanistic world.
A Spanish edition was previously published in Argentina. This new edition, released in Spain, commemorates the 50th anniversary of the start of the dialogue between Toynbee and Ikeda. It will be used in courses at the University of Alcalá, as well as in the research activities of IEDDAI.
