Exhibition of Daisaku Ikeda’s Photography Shown in Penza, Russia

On May 12, 2021, “Dialogue with Nature,” an exhibition of nature and scenic photographs taken by Daisaku Ikeda in Japan and on his travels abroad, opened at the Lermontov Penza Regional Library, named for Russian romanticist writer, poet and artist Mikhail Lermontov.

American Educational Research Association Recognizes Daisaku Ikeda for Contributions to Peace and Education

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) presented Daisaku Ikeda with the Ella Baker/Septima Clark Human Rights Award for 2021. AERA, founded in 1916, describes its mission as, “to advance knowledge about education, to encourage scholarly inquiry related to education, and to promote the use of research to improve education and serve the public good.”

Graduation and Entrance Ceremonies at Soka University, Women’s College and Soka Schools

During March and April, the Soka Schools, Soka University and Soka Women’s College held down-sized graduation and entrance ceremonies, exercising safety measures to guard against the spread of COVID-19. Daisaku Ikeda, founder of these institutions, sent messages and poems in celebration.

Vietnamese Edition of Cox-Ikeda Dialogue Published

A Vietnamese edition of The Persistence of Religion: Comparative Perspectives on Modern Spirituality, a dialogue between Harvey G. Cox, Hollis Professor of Divinity Emeritus at Harvard University, and Daisaku Ikeda, was released.
