World-Renowned Brazilian Musician José Carlos Amaral Vieira Dedicates Composition to Daisaku Ikeda

José Carlos Amaral Vieira, a world-renowned Brazilian composer and pianist, has created a piece titled The Human Revolution—Musical Impressions and Emotions in honor of Daisaku Ikeda, founder of the Min-On Concert Association. Mr. Vieria presented the handwritten score of the new composition to Soka Gakkai Senior Vice President Hiromasa Ikeda, Mr. Ikeda’s son, at the Min-On Culture Center, Tokyo, on May 23, 2024.

Florence, Italy, Dedicates Piazza to Daisaku Ikeda

On April 13, 2024, a ceremony was held to mark the establishment of the Piazza Daisaku Ikeda in Florence, Italy. The piazza was named after Daisaku Ikeda (1928–2023) in recognition of his advocacy of human rights and humanitarian causes. Florence City Council conferred the official name of the piazza through the passing of a formal resolution.

On January 30, 2024, a memorial service for Daisaku Ikeda (1928–2023) was held at the Hotel New Otani in Tokyo. The ceremony was attended by some 2,600 guests from various sectors, including business, academia, culture and the media, as well as ambassadors and embassy officials from 46 countries and territories.
