Condolence Message on the Passing of Former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos
SGI President Daisaku Ikeda sent a condolence message on the passing of former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos at 94 years old on July 31, 2022.
Mr. Ikeda expressed his heartfelt condolences and lauded President Ramos for his contributions not only to the prosperity of the Philippines but also to world peace. The former president was a leading figure in the People Power Revolution of 1986 that toppled a dictatorship that had lasted for more than 20 years.
President Ramos and President Ikeda met five times to exchange views on various topics, including peace and leadership.
